Permanent Brow FAQ

What is permanent makeup and what are the benefits?

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic procedure where pigments are tattooed onto the skin to replicate the appearance of makeup, such as eyeliner, eyebrows, or lip color. The benefits include saving time, providing a consistent look, being suitable for those with makeup allergies, enhancing facial features, and helping individuals with physical limitations or hair loss conditions.

Do you offer consultations?

Consultations are offered free via SMS and is a necessary step for confirming an appointment. We'll be able to answer any questions you may have.

What is the duration of the appointment?

Appointments are typically 2 to 3 hours long and touch up appoints are 1 to 2 hours long.

Do I have to receive a touch up after the first session?

Yes, in order to achieve full results, a follow up touch up appointment is required 4-6 weeks after the first session to review the healing progress and assess what is needed for color/shape, etc.

How long does it last?

In general, when a client receives any service in the permanent makeup industry, we often refer to the results as "semi-permanent", in that the pigment will gradually fade over time. We expect your brows will last approximately 1 to 3 years but will depend on factors such as skin type, sun exposure, and how well the individual cares for the skin. Touch-ups are required to maintain the desired look due to the gradual fading of pigment.

Does it hurt?

For microblading, we use a topical numbing cream to reduce pain. It is normal to experience discomfort during the procedure. Most clients describe the pain like a slow threading or scratch.

How do I know when it is time for a touch up?

Clients are asked to send us a recent photo of your brows so we can determine if it's time for a touch-up. If your brows are still dark and vibrant, we may recommend waiting until they lighten a bit more before scheduling your next session. Our priority is to protect the health of your skin; too many touch-ups can lead to unnecessary scarring and skin trauma. It’s normal for your brows to fade gradually, and it's perfectly fine to fill them in as needed in the meantime.

What if I have had previous work done and want a cover up or correction?

As part of the appointment process, we will require that you send a photo of your brows without makeup. We ask that the previous work be faded by at least 75% in shape and/or color. Depending on the pigment and number of previous sessions, we may require additional sessions to achieve the correct results.
